European Cooperation

European cooperation

  • An important part of Solar Association´s work is cooperation with EU institutions, non-governmental and sectoral organizations at European level
  • We are a member of the European solar association Solar Power Europe (https://www.solarpowereurope.org/) and are actively involved in working groups of the Strategy Committee and the Solar & Storage Tast Force where we address key issues of future development of solar energy in Europe and new European legislation. Currently work also includes the new directive of renewable energy sources, the energy efficiency directive and czech national climate plan 2030.
  • We operate with the notifications of support, protection of investments to RES, own electricity consumption, auction system for electricity from RES, duty charges on Chinese panels, eco-design and many others at European level.
  • Our cooperation involve individual national solar associations and we are able to mediate contact abroad for interested Czech companies.
  • We are a member of the European Renewable Energies Federation (http://www.eref-europe.org/).
  • Communication with representatives of the European Commission (DG ENER, DG COMP, DG FISMA and other directorates), with Czech members of the European Parliament and promote interests in key negotiations on European legislation concerning the renewable energy sector is also part of what we do.
  • We are involved in a number of pan-European projects focusing on the solar sector and other renewable sources. For example, in 2014, together with our European partners, we successfully participated in the PV GRID project, which assessed the possibilities and barriers to connecting PVPs to distribution networks in all EU countries in detail. In 2012-2013, we cooperated on the European project PV PARITY, which strived for the estimate of further penetration of photovoltaics into the EU electricity market and to achieve the competitiveness of photovoltaic resources at the lowest possible price.
